Tyler from All Age Gaming writes: "The production of Metro Last Light was so troubled many consumers assumed it would be the death of the title. The games prequel, an adaptation of Dmitry Glukhovskys novel Metro 2033, found its audience on the 360 but was overlooked due to certain gameplay issues and being overshadowed by more high-profile titles at the time. Last Light was overseen by THQ and was still in development when the publisher finally collapsed, putting it in production hell. The project, team and rights were obtained by Deep Silver and ancillary features like multiplayer were cut. In many other situations this would lead to a shoddy, uneven or subpar product. Yet, despite these complications, Metro: Last Light is an absolutely entertaining experience."

Mashable: "Theres a lot that goes into making an exceptional cake. Sure, you can use the best ingredients, mix it perfectly, neatly put it into pans and pop it into your oven for the allotted time. But if youre not paying close attention, you may not realize that your oven is cooking unevenly. The result? A woefully slanted cake, overbaked in some areas and underbaked in others.
First person sci-fi shooter Metro: Last Light is a slanted cake. While there is an intriguing concept and some flashes of great gameplay, a large portion of the game is wildly inconsistent and practically nothing can be praised all the way through."

Slant Magazine: "The game loses a bit of steam as its inherently unconvincing sci-fi elements begin to override its more absorbing humanistic aspects."

GamesRadar - Like the first game, Metro 2033, there is a secret alternate ending that can be found if you happen to make the right moral choices throughout the game. Some choices are given, some need to be achieved quickly, and some are cleverly hidden. When you perform certain actions in Metro: Last Light, you will see the screen slightly flash white and there will be a short tone that accompanies it. When you see this happen, youve done a good thing and its what you want to find. Youll also want to make sure that you do not kill any soldiers throughout the game.

| AusGamers Reviews Metro: Last Light

AusGamers has reviewed Metro: Last Light and writes:
We miss 2033s punishing difficulty and its willingness to experiment, to make you suffer, to pull you down into the mud its characters spent every day in. But for many, Last Lights changes will simply make the experience less intimidating and more enjoyable, and its hard to begrudge the game too hard when its still delivering such a fine experience.
